"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss

Purpose

The purpose of the McLendon Media Center is to grant students and staff access to materials in print and digital formats. The Media Center will foster an atmosphere which is appropriate for critical thinking, research based problem solving, digital citizenship, and reading enthusiasm. The Media Center will serve as a learning community for students to share ideas amongst each other in the form of research, creation, and presentation. The goal of the Media Center is to promote academic excellence through literacy and technology, allowing for a continued growth mindset.

Mission

The mission of the McLendon Media Center is to ensure that all students and staff become lifelong readers for education and enjoyment, while being ethical users of information.

I am a graduate of the DeKalb County School District and I am happy to serve the students

of Region II. This will be my sixth year in the DeKalb County School District and my first year at McLendon. Previously I worked for DeKalb County Public Library for 10 years before transitioning to School Media. I'm looking forward to an exciting school year,

filled with literacy and technology initiatives.
